Thin Hair Styles - Can Thin Hair Styles Be Attractive?

Can thin hair styles be attractive?  Of course they can!  Sometimes, when your hair is fine or thin, it's hard to find a hair style that is attractive and hides any thinning spots you may have.  It seems that popular and fashionable hairstyles just aren't for you, making you feel self conscious about your hair, rather than feeling fashionable.  There are some great thin hair styles, it just sometimes takes a while to find the right one.

Men, unfortunately, do not have the broad choices women have, even though they have to be careful about the choice of a hairstyle.  If a man has thin hair, the best "fall back" haircut is a short hairstyle.  If a man's hair is fine and thin, then by all means avoid today's current spiked look.  As an alternative, gelling hair and then spiking it could work.  All in all, the hairstyle with the best results, is simply just having your hair cut short and not styling it.  A man can achieve a rugged and casual look this way.

For women, the decision about a hair style can be more difficult.  Short hairstyles do take attention away from your hair.  If you can find a hairstyle that is approximately chin length, this may be the best length for you.  Couple that with bangs brushed to the side and you've got a hairstyle that will be fashionable and work for you.  One trick with hair of this length is the pull your hair behind your ears.  That creates the effect of thicker hair.

On the other hand, if you don't want to give up your longer hair, there are several styling tricks you can use to disguise fine, thin hair.  For example, an upswept hair do will draw attention away from thin hair.  A simple pony tail for an every day hair-do will do the same thing.  Braided hair also will hide thin hair.  Any variation of these ideas will help you find a hairstyle that is attractive and, at the same time, disguises your thinning or fine hair.

Any of these thin hair styles can be adapted to your personal look, whether it's a short or a longer hair-do.

One important hint, though, is to avoid being out in the urn without a hat for a long period of time. This could damage your hair and thin it even more.  In addition, as much as possible, avoid using styling products and tools.  These too can have a detrimental effect on your hair and even the best thin hair styles will not be able to help you.
